Description

From Rothenburg ob der Tauber to Kelheim - 6 daily stages and the most beautiful routes

The Altmühltal cycle path is a classic among cycle paths in Germany. It runs for 253 kilometers along the Altmühl. From Rothenburg ob der Tauber to Kelheim

From the mighty cliffs of the Jura Alps, through juniper heaths and the idyllic Altmühltal Nature Park. It is around 160 km from the entrance to the nature park near Gunzenhausen to Kehlheim, where the Altmühl flows into the Danube.

There is much to discover along the cycle path: traces of the Romans, Celts and dinosaurs. There are numerous museums, educational trails and information boards along the way. You cycle on excellent, level paths. Even inexperienced cyclists, those with plenty of luggage or families with child trailers will find this very comfortable. The stages are long enough to leave enough time for sightseeing and breaks. For a boat trip, a short hike or a city tour.

The excellent features at a glance: Enjoyable: The focus is on easy routes without major climbs. For sport-oriented cyclists, there are combinations and variants with more bite. Great off the beaten track: 9 charming routes in side valleys and the surrounding area - e.g. a section of the Schambach Valley cycle path on an old railroad line. Try it out! The excellent thing for you: There is a lot to see in the Altmühltal - the most beautiful sights and lots of personal tips from the author. Take a close look! Although the cycle path is excellently signposted, a detailed map at a scale of 1:50,000 is very helpful - also for the variants listed. What, already closed? To prevent this from happening, research the addresses, websites and opening times of museums and leisure facilities. The length of the stages is calculated so that there is enough time for sightseeing and breaks. You will notice: the author loves cycling and the Altmühltal.

The KOMPASS cycle guides impress with:
Spiral binding, for easy page turning

Rounded corners

User-friendly maps with precise route descriptions

Overview tour profile for optimal planning

Tear and weatherproof paper for all weathers

Personal recommendations from the authors

For easy planning & ideal for on the go!

Kain Hornberg | Kompass Karten GmbH | scale: 1:50,000 | format 12.0 x 22.0 cm | tear-resistant, weatherproof
