Description

The Mammut Nordwand Knit High GTX is an incredibly lightweight, fully crampon-compatible mountain boot for alpine challenges above the tree line. With its very good mobility for category D, thanks to the lightweight, elastic and precisely stabilised 3D knit fabric; the technical alpine mountain boot is particularly predestined for more challenging climbs in steep rock, ice and mixed terrain. With the waterproof, breathable and insulating Gore-Tex® Duratherm equipment in combination with additional insulating elements, such as the midsole or a heat-reflecting aluminium layer in the insole, the construction offers excellent protection in the harsh, even very cold high mountain climate.

The consistently thought-out concept convinces with details such as the Easy Entry System for stress-free entry and exit, the elastic and very well-fitting Stretch Fit construction, massive abrasion protection through a circumferential rubber coating or the BaseFit 2.0® technology for a non-slip fit, especially in the heel area. The 2-zone lacing allows for a perfect detailed adjustment to the toe.

Finally, the sole technical construction of the Nordwand Knit High GTX also plays a significant role in the optimal performance of high alpine use. Here, the concept scores particularly well with its lightweight construction, the torsionally stiff and edge-stable carbon insole and targeted cushioning elements for the necessary wearing comfort. The midsole also plays an essential role in the insulating effect of the modern alpine boot, whose Vibram® tread sole with pronounced climbing zones ensures optimum grip.
