Description

This climbing guide presents 124 of the most beautiful routes in the Pala Group, offering a new perspective on this breathtaking Dolomite region. In this seemingly endless sea of rocks with classic routes and modern routes, the descriptions with photos of the route and detailed drawings help you to find the right routes. Explaining these paths in words alone would not be enough, as finding your way around the walls of the Pala Group often requires a certain spirit of adventure. The Pala Group is a wonderful mountain region where you can still experience the days of old-style alpinism - with long ascents and sometimes arduous descents. However, the wonderful panorama makes up for any effort.

This guide is also an excellent introduction for lovers of long routes to get to know plenty of the walls and peaks of the Pala Group - and some may even rediscover them!

Renzo Corona, born in 1964, was born in Primiero. He started climbing in the Pala group at the age of 16. He was soon looking for new challenges and goals - and found them in the Dolomites and throughout the Alps. Many new tours and first repeats - including winter ascents - are to his credit. He also gained a lot of experience in the mountains of South America, Pakistan and Nepal. He loves going into the mountains and would like to pass this love on to future generations. Renzo is a mountain guide by profession and a proud member of the mountain guide association 'Aquile di San Martino e Primiero', and is also active in the mountain rescue service.

Igor Simoni, born in 1988, lives in Primiero. In his youth, he spent many summer months in the mountains. His parents Tullio and Mara managed the Rifugio Cima d'Asta until 2000 and have been working as hut managers at the Rifugio Treviso in Val Canali ever since. Igor works with the mountain shoe company La Sportiva and is also an instructor and route setter for the Italian sport climbing association FASI. For a few years now, he has dedicated himself entirely to sport climbing and bouldering; he has already managed routes up to 8b and boulders up to Fb 8a. In his climbing vita, he naturally also looks back on the most beautiful classic routes in his home mountains and with his organizational and writing talent, he made a not inconsiderable contribution to this guide.
